New Delhi, December 2 () Uber's biggest driver, Uber, said Monday that he has established his second center of excellence (CoE) in Visakhapatnam and will hire about 500 people for the installation by the end of next year.

The US-based company UU. Who is immersed in an intense battle with Ola, based in Bengaluru, for market leadership in India, already operates a CoE in Hyderabad.

The Visakhapatnam CoE is an extension of our Hyderabad center to ensure business continuity ... it will provide specialized customer service for critical incidents that require immediate attention for both drivers and our driving partners, Senior Director of Community Operations for Asia Pacific from Uber, Wen-Szu Lin said.

He added that the center will provide support to clients in India and in the APAC region (Asia-Pacific).

Created at a cost of USD 800,000 (around Rs 5.73 crore), the new center will create around 500 new jobs. The trained teams will respond to any problem or urgent incident that is reported to the company and will operate 24/7.

We have already hired 70 people and this number will increase to 120 at the beginning of next year. We expect to have about 500 people by the end of next year, he said.

Lin added that the launch of the second center in India is a reiteration of the company's commitment to the Indian market.

Through the new CoE, we plan to expand our global customer service presence, as well as our goal of creating new economic opportunities for high-caliber talent in this country, he said.

Uber launched its first center in India in Hyderabad in 2015, and now has a little more than 1,000 employees who provide critical customer service services regionally and globally to passengers, drivers, Eats customers, post offices and restaurant partners from Uber.
