Rituparna portrays the real-life struggle of an actress.

Your chemistry on screen in Ranjan Ghosh directed Ahaa Re has knocked down moviegoers already. And now, the Rituparna Sengupta and the couple Arifin Shuvoo is back with another movie titled Ekti Cinemar Golpo.

Directed by the winning actor of the Bangladesh National Film Award, Alamgir, the cast of the film comprises Rituparna, Arifin, Praise He and Champa, a popular actress from Dhaka. The film saw its launch in Kolkata recently and has received mixed reviews so far.

The film, which premiered in Bangladesh last year, revolves around the life of a Kavita actress played by Rituparna. There are hundreds of aspiring actors who come to the film industry because of the rush, the thrust, the long lines and the chaos that lead very few to stardom. Kavita is one of those actresses caught between her personal life and her professional ethics. For a stranger, the dream of working in the celluloid is close to reaching nirvana. Making a space for yourself in the film industry is extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Kavita, a well-established actor, confesses his love for Akaash, a film director who is already married. Akaash rejects Kavita, but she doesn't pay attention to him. Instead, she plans to create a disaster in Akaash's personal and professional life. Meanwhile, Sajeeb, an aspiring actor, falls in love with Kavita but does not make it his own. The conflict between the three forms the crux of the story.
