Bareilly: Class VIII student attracts a six-year-old girl with chocolates and rapes her in Kheri
BAREILLY: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy in the Gola village of Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday. After returning from school, the girl went out to play with her friends when the defendant, who is a Class VIII student, offered her chocolates and convinced her to visit her home to play.
The defendant then took her to the roof of her house and allegedly assaulted her sexually. The child has been arrested and will be taken to a juvenile court.
Disclosing details of the case, the SHO Gola police station, DP Tiwari, said: “The girl and her family know the defendant. The parents never thought that the child they knew for several years could commit such a crime. We have reserved the defendant under sections 376 (Violation) and the POCSO Law of the IPC. The girl was sent to a medical examination and the report confirmed that the accused sexually assaulted her. The doctor also confirmed that his condition was stable. Since the defendant is a minor, he will be sent to a youth home.
A police officer, on condition of anonymity, told TOI: The defendant was in the habit of verifying certain pornographic content on his phone and gave himself up to this habit through his friend. He committed the crime possibly due to excessive anxiety. Such videos are readily available and young men are often victims of these contents.
Previously, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 32-year-old neighbor, father of three young children, in the Hyderabad area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on November 17. The defendant on that occasion was under the influence of alcohol. and also set the girl's house on fire after her parents filed a police report. He was arrested and sent to the district jail on November 18.
