Ayodhya Verdict: Jamiat will file a petition for review on December 6
LUCKNOW: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JuH) will file a petition for review in the Supreme Court for a review of December 6, the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid. The petition will be presented through Jamiat UP's secretary general, Maulana Ashhad Rasheedi, who is also one of the 10 litigants on the Muslim side in the case of Ayodhya.
“The documentation is in final stages. Our legal cell is drafting the review statement and needs a few days to finalize the details, ”Rasheedi told TOI. Rasheedi had replaced the former UP secretary general of UP SM, SM Siddiq, as a litigator after the latter died a few years ago.
Jamiat UP Secretary General Maulana Ashhad Rasheedi said that the first part of the SC ruling on Ayodhya contradicts the last part. And it is our humble plea for the SC to explain the contradiction. The court admitted that the mosque was not built by razing a temple and that the demolition of the mosque in December 1992 was illegal. However, the court delivers the land to the other party.
