Mahindra total sales fell 9 pcs to 41,235 units in November

New Delhi, December 1 () Carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) reported a 9 percent decline in total sales in November to 41,235 units on Sunday.



The company had sold 45,101 units in the corresponding month last year, M&M said in a regulatory document.

In the domestic market, sales fell 7 percent to 38,614 units last month compared to 41,564 units in November 2018.

Exports also decreased 26 percent to 2,621 units compared to 3,537 units in the month of the previous year.

In the segment of passenger vehicles, which includes utility vehicles, cars and vans, the company sold 14,637 units last month compared to 16,188 units in the same month last year, down 10 percent.

In the commercial vehicle segment, the company sold 17,384 units in November compared to 19,673 units in the same month of the previous year, 12% less.

The month after the holiday season is historically a scarce month for the automotive industry. The demand of consumers, especially passenger vehicles, generally increases at the end of the year which is in December. Therefore, we expect December to develop better for the automotive industry, said Veejay Ram Nakra, Head of Sales and Marketing at M&M, Automotive Division.

National sales in the agricultural equipment segment in November stood at 20,414 units compared to 25,159 units in the same month last year.

The exports of the month were 618 units.

Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during November 2019 were 21,032 units, compared to 25,949 units in the same month last year.
