Japan expects a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem

NEW DELHI: One day after his first ministerial dialogue on defense and foreign affairs with India, on Sunday he expected a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said his government analyzed the situation in Kashmir very carefully and was aware of long-standing differences in views on the issue.

On India's decision not to join (RCEP), the spokesman said that the countries of the group were trying to address the concerns of New Delhi as decided at their meeting in Bangkok last month.
