Chennai receives heavy rains, corporation establishes helpline
CHENNAI: Chennai has received a lot rain since Saturday evening. Some parts of the city received around 100mm of rain fall in the last 24 hours ending at 8.30am on Sunday.
Rain continued on Sunday morning. The India Meteorological Department has forecast that Chennai would receive moderate to heavy rain fall on Sunday.

Areas on the East Coast Road and the Old Mahabalipuram Road in South Chennai received the highest rain fall with Shollinganallur registering 112mm of rain .
Heavy rain resulted in waterlogging on many roads and in low-lying areas.
Senior officials have established a 24-hour schedule for troubled residents.
