WayCool Foods starts engagement program to improve farmers ’ profitability

CHENNAI: WayCool Foods & Products, An Agrotechnology Company Based In Chennai, Has Launched Outgrow, A Farmer Engagement Program Aimed At Improving Small-Hold Profitability Farmers By Resolving Their Operational Challenges.

At Its Pilot Stage, The Program Has Been Launched In Six Regions Across Three States Covering 61 Acres Of Land Cultivating Crops Like, Onion, Potato, Coriander, Mint, Cauliflower And Others.

Hingoli Maharashtra , Sadali And Hoskote Regions Karnataka And Shoolagiri, Tindivanam And Rasipuram Regions Tamil Nadu have been covered in the pilot. WayCool plans to cover more than 1,000 acres and benefit over 500 Farmers under this program, by the month of December.

Besides creating impact for the company's suppliers -the small Farmers - the program is also expected to help them get access to quality produce and build long-term relationships with Farmers .

The Outgrow Program Uses Proprietary Demand Forecasting And Supply Planning Tech, Which Ensures That WayCool Foods Can Procure 100% Of The Stock Coming From A Farmer's Country.

"Outgrow not only tells Farmers how much to harvest but works with Farmers from a seed level to guide on how much to plant, when to plant, how to grow high quality products, and more," the company said.

WayCool said Farmers are already seeing substantial increases in both yield per acre and product quality.

“We source our fresh produce from a base of 35,000 small-hold Farmers and have conducted years of research to understand their individual farming P&Ls and the challenges they face," said Sanjay Dasari, co-founder, WayCool Foods .

While not disclosing the exact investment that has gone into the program, Dasari said a team of over 50 people were working on helping Farmers in areas like better crop planning, improved produce quality & productivity, lower cultivation costs, assured returns and fair pricing.
