Complaints of potholes: 12 Mumbaikars get a reward of 500 rupees
MUMBAI: More than 12 Mumbaikars have already received the reward of 500 rupees at the # PotholeChallenge2019 seven days, as the civic staff did not respond to their complaint in 24 hours. Civic officials said they are in the process of giving the reward to 100 whistleblowers, and plan to do so for this weekend. They argued that the money was being delivered by their officers from their own pockets.
When sharing a photograph of the 500 rupees he received from the BMC, Nisarg Mehta, a resident of Andheri, tweeted: Believe it or not! He received 500 from @mybmc for not filling the pothole during the #PotholeChallenge. I wish they could be more proactive in maintaining roads that are a disaster throughout the city. It would also be better to make payments through digital media for next season!

On Wednesday, Mehta, a moving graphic artist, told TOI that on November 5 he had complained of a bump in a Sahar highway. I saw the bump on the way to my BKC workplace. I stopped my car, took a picture and loaded it into the BMC FixIt application. Later, I received a call from the BMC that the bump was full, but since it was not done within the stipulated period of time, they asked me to collect the reward of 500 rupees, he said, adding that the quality of work is very bad .
