Tilak Varma hits the ton to take India B home
HYDERABAD: N Thakur Tilak Varma hit a century to help India B publishes a convincing victory of seven wicket over India C in the U-19 Challenger Trophy one day on Wednesday.
Shaswat Rawat hit a century for India B but it was Tilak Varma who had the last laugh as he ensured his side picked up full points from the game.
Put at bat, India C lost three fast wickets with only eight on the board. Akash Singh pocketed two and Aaqib Khan got one when India C was pushed back.
However, Shaswat and Vikrant Singh recovered with a 75-run association for the fourth wicket before Vikrant dropped to 41. Shaswant then added 72 for the fifth wicket with Kumar Kushagra (28).
Then, India C lost its way when the gates fell at regular intervals. Shaswat did most of the score before falling with the score of 225. He made 129 of 119 balls with 15 four and three six.
In reply, India B lost Nehal Pajni (8) early on but Tilak Varma and Yash Dhull shared a 189-run stand for the second wicket which virtually ended the contest. Tilak fell for 101 off 106 balls with 10 fours and three sixes and Yash went for 86 (111b; 9x4) but India B reached 230 for three to pocked full points.
In another match, India A won a victory of 107 races over Nepal. Batting first, India A made 247 with Dhruv Jurel scoring 74 of those. In response, Nepal restricted itself to 140 by nine.
