Shooter of the famous gang Jitender Gogi arrested in Delhi
NEW DELHI: A notorious sniper, who was wanted in connection with a shooting incident in Delhi, was arrested in the national capital, police said Friday. Pradeep aka Kala (22), a resident of Bhalswa, was arrested on November 2, they said.
Pradeep was arrested following a warning that he would approach a shopping center in Ghazipur with loaded weapons, said deputy police commissioner (east) Jasmeet Singh.
A case has been filed against him, the officer said.
During the interrogation, the defendant revealed that he, along with other members of the Jitender Gogi gang, had fired 10-15 shots at the residence of gangster Naresh Kumar in Jahangir Puri on May 23, Singh said.
The two gangs are rivals, he added.
An accomplice of Pradeep, Tushar, was arrested by the Special Cell in connection with the shooting incident on October 14.
Pradeep also revealed during the interrogation that he was wanted in three other cases, police said.
A gun and three live cartridges were recovered from their possession, they said.
