The opposition alliance announces the distribution of seats for the Jharkhand assembly polls

RANCHI: The opposition alliance on Friday declared an agreement to share seats according to which JMM will play 43 seats, Congress 31 and RJD in seven constituencies.

This was announced by RPN Singh by AICC at a press conference here along with JMM's acting president, Hemant Soren.

There was no one from the RJD at the press meeting.

But, Hemant Soren told reporters that the distribution of seats has been finalized after consulting RJD president Lalu Prasad.

The congressional leader said the opposition will contest the elections under JMM's leadership with Hemant Soren as its main ministerial candidate.

Singh said there will be no friendly competition and that anyone who fights the official candidate will face the action of the respective parties.

Jharkhand will see five-phase surveys of the 81 seats between November 30 and December 20, and the count is scheduled for December 23.
