HC dismisses the petition challenging the detention of Farooq's relatives

SRINAGAR: Jammu and the high court on Tuesday dismissed a petition that challenges the restrictions and house arrest of the former sister of former Prime Minister Farooq Abdullah, Khalida Shah, his younger brother Mustafa Kamal and his nephew Muzzaffar Shah.

Judge Mohammad Magrey noted that the petition was not maintainable and unnecessary after the SSP Srinagar He submitted a communication that the petitioners had not been placed under house arrest nor had their freedom been.

Judge Magrey said the respondents had clearly disputed the statement made in the court order petition on house arrest.

Discussing the sentence, Muzaffar said: It is regrettable that the court has taken into account our statements and has disapproved of the evidence of our detention. I have the video clip of our detention. It is evident in the clip that (we were arrested) when we tried to leave our homes recently. The media were present and a police contingent stopped us. ”

In his next course of action, Muzaffar said they would approach the court of the chief judicial magistrate, seeking release from detention.
