Honda will expand the BigWing business in India next fiscal year, 5 new bicycles among 13 launches

New Delhi, November 5 () Japanese automaker Honda said Tuesday that it will almost double its offer in the premium large bike segment to 13, including five new models, next fiscal year, as it conforms to BS emission standards -SAW.

The company, which is present in India through a wholly owned subsidiary Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), plans to boost its Honda BigWing premium motorcycle business by producing such motorcycles in the country.

Honda will unleash Phase II of its premium business vertical in the new BS-VI era. Customers can expect twice as much fun with 13 iconic global models that include five completely new models, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president of HMSI (Sales and Marketing) said in a statement.

This will be supported by the exclusive Honda BigWing network for sales and service in 75 cities, he added.

He added that all seven existing premium large bike models ranging from 300cc to 1,800cc will receive new global updates.

Honda had started in India its new commercial identity for premium bicycles under the Silver Wing-Mark brand with the Honda BigWing brand in April this year.

The company also said it planned to venture into mass production of large select motorcycles in India since its current operations of completely demolished and fully constructed units. Honda presented its 2020 European line at the current two-wheeler fair, EICMA 2019, with three of the total products revealed that will soon arrive in India. RKL HRS
