Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, director of 'Panga': I would love for Kangana Ranaut to interpret me if my biographical film is made
After making her successful directorial debut with 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' and receiving praise for her performance in 'Judgementall Hai Kya', Kangana Ranaut will be seen next in ' Panga '. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari , the film is based on a true story of a national Kabbadi player, and her triumphs, struggles and how she overcomes stereotypes.
During the filming of the film, the director and the actor have got along phenomenally well and have ended up being close friends ever since. From sneaking to chat after shooting or dining just to let off steam, the two come together on similar ideologies and thought processes.
During a recent podcast, Tiwari was asked that if a biographical film was made about her, who would be the protagonist. The director responded immediately by saying Kangana. When asked if it was because of her curly hair, Ashwiny denied and said that Kangana was also very fair. However, she revealed that Kangana did not appreciate the adjective fair attributed to her, since she defends dark skin and is a staunch promoter of that. She triumphs over dark skin. He also added that he would also like Vidya Balan and Revathy to play the role.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Kangana is preparing to play the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa , in his next movie Thalaivi. In addition to Kangana, the film will feature Arvind Swami as MGR. The movie's premiere is scheduled for 2020.
