Nalanda man beaten to death by his sister, others
BIHARSHARIF: Angry at not being invited to celebrate Chhath, a woman along with her accomplices, her brother thrasher, died in Nalanda on Monday morning.
Police arrested Rekha Devi and his eight alleged accomplices, including three women.
According to Ranjeet Kumar of Mahadev Bigha, in the area of the Noorsarai police station, Rekha along with his brother Bhupendra Chaudhary and others attacked his younger brother Jitan Manjhi with bamboo sticks and a blade outside his house and injured him seriously.
He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. He said Rekha was angry at his brother since he did not invite his family to celebrate Chhath with him.
The deceased had a tense relationship with his sister.
Ranjeet, who claimed to be a neighbor of the deceased, said he saw Rekha and others hitting Jitan. When he raised the alarm, they fled leaving Jitan wounded.
An ASI published at the Noorsarsarai police station said that Rekha, his other brother Bhupendra, Muteshar Chaudhary, Suman Saurabh, Sanjay Chaudhary, Dharmendra Chaudhary and three women, including Mangri Devi, Sushila Devi and Smirti Devi, were arrested in the village of Mahadev Bigha The case was reported to the police.
