Bold decision: RSS affiliate in motion of the government not to join RCEP

NEW DELHI: The RSS affiliate (SJM) thanked on Monday the government's decision not to sign the mega () backed by China and hailed it as a bold decision.

The SJM coordinator said that staying away from the RCEP is a decision in favor of small businesses, farmers, dairy, data security and the country's manufacturing sector.

We thank the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the bold decision not to sign the agreement on RCEP, the SJM said in a statement.

Prime Minister Modi showed great diplomatic hyperopia when he described the current text of the negotiations as not in favor of the people of India, he said.

The SJM believes that the RCEP would have undone several good works done by the NDA government under Modi in the last six months, Mahajan said.

The deal would have killed '', 'digital India', 'Skill India' and several other ways of job creation, said the economic wing of the Sangh.

In addition, he said that after leaving the RCEP negotiations, we asked the government to review the defective Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and CEPA made with Japan, South Korea and other countries.

After years of negotiations, India withdrew from the RCEP for unresolved central concerns, and the Prime Minister said the proposed agreement would have an adverse impact on the lives and livelihoods of all Indians.

Modi conveyed India's decision not to join the RCEP agreement at a summit meeting of the 16-nation bloc, effectively destroying its goal of creating the world's largest free trade area with half the world's population.
