BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta speaker unanimously elected from the Haryana assembly
CHANDIGARH: BJP MLA was elected unanimously on Monday.
The name of Panchkula MLA Gupta was proposed by the Prime Minister and seconded by the Deputy Chief Minister.
In the election of the assembly, Gupta defeated the Chander Mohan Bishnoi of Congress, son of the former prime minister.
Previously, Protem Raghubir Singh Kadian was an oath to Khattar, Dushyant and other legislators.
In the 90-member assembly, the strength of BJP is 40, its ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) 10, Independents seven, Congress 31, and (INLD) and Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) one each.
