Nawaz Sharif's daughter, Mariam, receives bail in a sugar mill case

LAHORE: The leader of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) received bail on Monday in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case by the Lahore High Court (LHC).

At the hearing held on October 31, a bank of two members of the Superior Court had reserved their verdict after all parties had concluded their arguments in the money laundering case, Dawn reported.

Maryam and her cousin were arrested by the National Responsibility Office (NAB), Pakistan's office of responsibility. A special NAB court had referred them to judicial custody on September 25.

Maryam's father and former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received bail for medical reasons in the CSM case of Lahore High Court.
