Two-day sporting event in Mumbai, see Pune girls and Kolhapur boys get trophies
A two-day state level Kabaddi The tournament for children under 17 was recently held in the city.
Jointly organized by the District Sports Council, Suburban District of Mumbai collector and child welfare High School Center , the tournament concluded successfully on a large scale recently.
Boys of Kolhapur and Mumbai clashed in the finals and Kolhapur boys emerged winners. The finals amongst girls saw Pune and Amravati Fight for the trophy that the Pune team finally won.
Kabaddi player of international repute Rishank Devadiga, Mumbai Suburban Kabaddi Association president Amol Kirtikar, District Sports Officer Suvarna Bartakke, Children Welfare High School Center Principal Ajay Kaul, Activity Chairman Prashant Kashid, Mangal Pandey, Popatrao Patil, P K Joshi and others involved in Kabaddi promotion graced the occasion. The winner team was felicitated with a trophy and a certificate.
Principal Ajay Kaul from Children Welfare High School Center was applauded for organising the spectacular Kabaddi tournament on such a grand scale.
A group of 25 players each was selected from the participating boys and girls. They will be given training in a camp in Pune. After the training, 12 boys and 12 girls will be selected to play in the Maharashtra Kabaddi team.
