Maharashtra Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis meets with Amit Shah in Delhi
NEW DELHI: the Prime Minister arrived on Monday at the official residence of the Minister of Interior of the Union Amit Shah to hold a meeting with the minister of the Union.
According to sources, Fadnavis is meeting with Shah to seek more central government help for affected farmers due to seasonal rainfall in Maharashtra.
Earlier on Sunday, Fadnavis said the state government has already approved Rs 10,000 crore to provide relief to farmers affected by rains in the state.
We already approved Rs 10,000 crore. The state government strongly supports farmers whose crops have been damaged due to heavy rains and will be provided with all necessary steps and assistance, he said.
Fadnavis has already asked officials to act as mediators between insurance companies and farmers to obtain early and maximum assistance and ensure that not a single farmer is deprived of assistance.
Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray has demanded from the government 25,000 rupees per hectare to help farmers.
