The governor of Alaska quotes Trump when he faces a withdrawal campaign

JUNEAU: A fight is brewing over itself Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy should be removed from office.

His critics say he is incompetent and has tried to recklessly cut spending, while supporters see a politically motivated attempt to undo the last elections.

Dunleavy, a Republican, is drawing parallels between him and the president Donald Trump .

The governor has introduced himself as an executive director who attempts to implement a smaller government agenda and resource development while facing leftist attacks.

Claire Pywell, who manages the retirement campaign, says she is bipartisan.

A state elections official could decide as early as Monday whether the first serious attempt to recall an Alaska governor since the early 1990s should advance to a second phase of signature-gathering.
