Ahmedabad: woman commits suicide at the Civil Hospital, FIR filed
AHMEDABAD: A woman, Kavya Ramani, 27, who had jumped from the third floor on October 24, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Saturday. According to the father of the s, Dwarkadas Bhagchandani, 59, Kavya had first tried to commit suicide by overdosing herself with blood pressure pills on October 20, her husband Sandeep Ramani's birthday. Later, when she was brought to Civil Hospital for her condition, she again attempted suicide and ultimately died.
Bhagchandani has alleged that she was driven to commit suicide as her mother-in-law, Lajvanti Ramani, used to ridicule and demean her, and also tortured Kavya over her damaged left eye. Shahibaug police have registered the FIR of the case, and have begun investigation.
Bhagchandani, a slippers vendor in Sarangpur, told police that every time her daughter visited her parents' house she used to cry and that her mother-in-law constantly tortured her due to the retinal defect in her left eye.
