Death in custody of Mumbai: FSL viscera report expected in ten days
MUMBAI: The viscera samples of a 26-year-old man who allegedly died in police custody in Mumbai were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, an official said on Sunday.
Vijay Singh, a medical representative in a private company, died on the way to the hospital after complaining of chest pain while he was being held at the TT police station on October 27.
Singh's relatives alleged that the police personnel on duty beat him and took his complaints of chest pain lightly.
Singh was arrested after a fight with a partner who was also hired as part of the investigation.
A subinspector, an assistant subinspector, a police chief and two agents have been suspended in connection with Singh's death.
A senior FSL official said his department had addressed the case with priority and would present the viscera report within 10 days.
