Minor fire in Japan government jet with PM on board: media reports
TOKYO: A minor fire broke out mid-flight on a Japanese government plane on Sunday while Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was aboard, but quickly died out without injury, according to media reports.
The leader was flying towards Bangkok from Tokyo in a Boeing 777-300ER to attend the summit talks (ASEAN).
About an hour after takeoff, a flight announcement said an oven on the plane had caused a small fire, Asahi Shimbun reported.
Ten minutes later, another announcement said the fire had died out, with no smoke or smell detected, the newspaper said in an online article.
