Eight TN fishermen held by Lankan navy

RAMESWARAM: Eight fishermen were arrested on Saturday by the Sri Lankan navy for allegedly fishing in their territorial waters.

The eight, belonging to a village in the Pudukkotai district, were fishing off Analai Island when they were arrested, said Deputy Director of Fisheries Kumaresan.

Around 2,000 fishing boats ventured into the sea from the Ramananthapuram and Pudukottai districts in the morning, he said.
