Goa on yellow alert
PANAJI: Days after Goa's red and orange alert rose and the sun began to shine on the streets, the (IMD) predicted a heavy rain alert from October 31 to November 1 accompanied by gusty winds in isolated places of Goa. The state has been set for both days.
The state had experienced a very heavy rain last week due to the cyclonic storm Kyarr that recently passed along the west coast of India and moved to the coast of Oman.
“A new system has been developed in the central west about 220 km southwest of Trivandrum. It is moving northwest. This will be parallel to Goa between October 31 and November 1, said IMD director KV Padgalwar.
However, IMD believed that this phenomenon will be far from the coast of Goa for about 350 to 400 km. As a result, it will have less impact compared to it. The state is also likely to experience a spongy climate, so it urges meteorological experts to warn citizens of gusty winds. The state has been put on yellow alert for both days.
