Indian diaspora in Thailand welcomes Prime Minister Modi

BANGKOK: Prime Minister Narendra Modi the members of the Indian community gave him a warm welcome in Thailand upon arrival in the capital Bangkok on Saturday to participate in the Asean-India summit.

Dressed in white Kurta and a half jacket, the prime minister was seen saluting and smiling at the crowd gathered at the Marriott Marquis Hotel here. He also interacted with the children.

Modi is on a three-day visit to Thailand , where he is scheduled to participate in the Asean-India Summit.

He is also slated to address the Indian diaspora at the 'Sawasdee PM Modi' community program in Bangkok later on Saturday.

The launch of a commemorative coin that marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of Guru nanak Dev, as well as the launch of a Thai translation of the Tamil classic Tirukkural, would be the other highlights of the prime minister's visit.
