No need for hospitalization in Chidambaram: AIIMS board

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Friday refused to grant a provisional bond to former finance minister P Chidambaram for health reasons after a medical board concluded that the veteran of Congress did not require hospitalization.

However, Judge Suresh Kait ordered the administration to ensure that the area around the cell where Chidambaram is staying is clean, hygienic and that homemade food, mineral water, mosquito net and repellent be provided.

The court said that the area around his cell should be cleaned twice a day and a facial mask should be provided, adding that regular monitoring of his blood pressure should be performed and more tests performed. The former FM is suffering.
