NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said Friday that if the BJP or the government hired Israeli agencies to spy on the phones of journalists, lawyers, activists and politicians, it is a scandal with serious consequences for national security.
His comments came after Indian scribes and human rights activists were among the spied globally by unidentified entities using Israelis spyware Pegasus.

Waiting for the government's response, said the Secretary General of Congress.
Congress attacked the Modi government on Thursday for the issue, claiming it had been caught sniffing around. The opposition party demanded an investigation supervised by the Supreme Court on the illegal hacking of cell phones.
In the midst of the controversy, the government requested the Facebook-owned courier to explain the violation and list the measures taken to safeguard the privacy of millions of Indians. The IT minister said the government is committed to protecting the privacy of Indian citizens.
