India's unemployment rate in October increases to 8.5%, the highest in more than 3 years: CMIE

NEW DELHI: India's unemployment rate in October increased to 8.5%, the highest since August 2016, and increased from 7.2% in September, according to data published by the Indian Economy Monitoring Center (CMIE) on Friday, which reflect the impact of a slowdown in the economy.

India's infrastructure production fell 5.2% in September compared to the previous year, the worst performance in years, government data showed on Thursday, while industrial production fell at its fastest pace in more than six years in August.
