Bopanna-Shapovalov enters the Paris Masters
PARIS: the best doubles player in India Rohan Bopanna along with his partner Denis Shapovalov from Canada, advanced to the quarterfinals of the current Paris Masters after a victory in straight sets over the American-Argentine couple of Manuel Gonzalez and Austin Krajicek in his round of 16 match.
Bopanna-Shapovalov defeated his American-Argentine opponent 6-1, 6-3 in a match that lasted an hour Thursday night.
The Indian-Canadian couple shot eight aces and committed a double foul. However, they saved eight of 13 break points and won four of 13.
Bopanna and Shapovalov had previously recorded a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Benoit Paire and Fernando Verdasco to move to the previous rooms.
Now they will face the Russian duo of Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublov on Friday for a place in the semifinals.
