Gurudas Dasgupta, veteran of the IPC dies
KOLKATA: Veteran Leader Gurudas Dasgupta , one of the country's inhabitants and former deputy, died Thursday at his home in Chetla in Calcutta, three days before his 83rd birthday on November 3. He suffered from lung cancer .
Dasgupta passed away at home at 6 in the morning. He was ill for quite some time and had resigned his party charges and remained a member of the national IPC council until the last, said Bengal IPC secretary Swapan Banerjee.

Dasgupta was known for his speaking skills and his cunning attitude against corruption. Dasgupta's last rites will take place in the city on Friday.
