RAIPUR: Two Naxals, Including One Woman, Were Killed During A Meeting With Security Forces In The Early Hours Of Wednesday, The Police Said.
The Confrontation Took Place Around 5 O'clock In A Forest In The Village Of Gonderas When A Joint Team Of The District Reserve Guard (DRG) And The Special Task Force (STF) Were Out Of Anti-Maoist Operation, Deputy Inspector (Anti-Naxal Operations ) Sundarraj P Told PTI.
The Patrol Team Moved Through Gonderas, Located Along The Border Of The Dantewada-Sukma Districts, When A Group Of The Ultra Fired At Them, Leading To The Firefight Battle, He Said.
After The Exchange Of Fire Was Stopped, Bodies Of Two Maoists, Including A Woman, Were Recovered From The Site Along With An Insas Rifle And A 12-hole Rifle, The DIG Said.
In Addition, Some Ammunition, Maoist Literature, Items For Daily Use, And Other Naxal-related Materials Were Also Removed From The Site, He Said.
The Dead Have Not Yet Been Identified, He Said.
The Incident Took Place At Approximately 450 Km From The Capital Raipur .
No Harm Was Reported To The Security Personnel In The Gunfight. Search Operation Is Underway In The Area, He Added.
