SC orders the transfer of NRC state coordinator Prateek Hajela to Madhya Pradesh
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the transfer between cadres of Prateek Hajela to the deputation. A bank headed by the President of the Supreme Court ordered the government to notify its transfer within seven days.
Attorney General K K Venugopal asked the SC bank of CJI Gogoi and Judges S A Bobde and R F Nariman if there was any cause or reason to send Hajela to the delegation. In response, CJI Gogoi said: Can any order be approved without a cause or a reason? However, Gogoi did not mention the cause or reason, which led to speculation that Hajela possibly received a threat to his life.
Hajela played a decisive role in fulfilling the orders of the SC bank headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi in the preparation of the draft and final NRC for Assam.
