Bengaluru & s; Indian Music Experience is now a connected Grammy Museum

Since The Soft Launch Last Year, The Indian Music Experience (IME), India's First Interactive Music Museum, Is A Hot Spot For Audiophiles Who Want To Know More About The Different Elements Displayed. A Treasure Of Information, The Museum Is Now Appropriately Called An Official Institutional Part Of The Grammy Museum , Together With People Like Berklee College Of Music , Yale University , Sapienza University , BB King Museum and Delta Interpretive Centre , among others. As an affiliate , these universities and culture centres have access to educational initiatives , research programmes , internship opportunities and more. The Indian Music Experience , which has interactive and unique installations on display , will have access to Grammy Museum exhibitions , collaborative marketing and promotions , and technical support for interactive displays. IME director Manasi Prasad says , “We will co-curate events and exhibits where we will bring some of their props here , while also taking some of ours to other affiliates. We are currently working on planning some of these initiatives.” At the biennial meeting of the affiliates in April this year , Manasi had given a presentation on Indian music and the activities of the IME , based on which it was was picked to be a part of the affiliates programme.

Commenting on the collaboration , Michael Sticka , Grammy , Museum Executive Director , says , “Our Grammy Museum Affiliates Programme explores new ways to keep music and the performing arts flourishing both inside and outside the classroom internationally. We are thrilled to welcome the Indian Music Experience to our programme and look forward to working together.”

Everything About The Museum

The Indian Music Experience is expected to be formally inaugurated this year. The space had a soft launch on Karnataka Rajyotsava last year. Currently , the exhibit area consists of eight thematic galleries showcasing various facets of Indian music , an instruments gallery with over 100 musical instruments , three mini theatres and several computer-based interactive installations that allow the visitor to experience the process of music making. The Sound Garden features musical sculptures that introduce visitors to the principles of sound.
