Self-assessment in Congress need of the time: Scindia

BHOPAL: After the declaration of the leader of the Congress, Salman Khurshid, on the former president of AICC Rahul Gandhi and the party, another leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia, said Wednesday that a self-assessment is needed. Scindia is currently on a nine-day visit in the Gwalior-Chambal region.

On Wednesday, journalists approached him to comment on the comment of former Union Minister Salman Khurshid that Congress did not meet to discuss Lok Sabha defeat. Khurshid said: “Our biggest problem is that our leader is gone. It is a kind of emptiness.

Scindia declined to comment on Khurshid's statement. You know my habit, I don't react to reactions. You should ask the person who made that observation. However, Scindia added: There is no doubt that a self-assessment is needed in Congress. And review whatever the situation and take steps to improve, this is the need and demand of the time.

The State Congress supported Scindia's statement that the party requires self-introspection. State Congress spokesman Pankaj Chaturvedi said: “What Jyotiraditya Scindia said is correct and introspection is a common feature of political parties, especially Congress. The Congress party has been performing introspection exercises for 133 years. If we have to improve our policy and reach the common man, then introspection is essential. There is no harm in introspection.
