Security tightened along LoC, IB for Amarnath yatra

JAMMU: The Security Grid Along The Line Of Control (LoC) And The International Border (IB) In The Jammu Region Is Reinforced Prior To The Annual Pilgrimage To The Cave Temple Of The Southern Kashmir Himalaya, Officials Said On Sunday.

The 46-day Yatra Is Scheduled To Start From The Twin Route - The Traditional Circuit And The Shortest Baltal Trail In The Ganderbal District - On July 1 And Ends On August 15, Coinciding With The Festival.

A Joint Meeting Of Police, Army, BSF, CRPF, And Central Armed Police Units (CAPF) Discussed In Detail Here Security Measures To Be Introduced Along The IB, LoC And The Hinterland Including Highways During The Yatra, Officials Said.

They Said That The Assembly, Chaired By Deputy Inspector General Of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua, Called For The Strengthening Of The Security Network And Border Management On The IB And The LoC.

Army And BSF Officers Were Instructed To Hold Regular Meetings With Police Officers In Their Respective Areas And To Exchange Information Exchange In The Event Of Important Information About Terrorists Terrorism , The Officials Said.

They Said That Reinforcement Of The Control Points Of IB And LoC And On National Highways Straight From Lakhanpur To The Jurisdiction Of Jammu District And The Placement Of Modern Equipment And Gadgets Along The Highway For Detailed Discussion.

They Said That Senior Police Inspectors (SSP) From Different Districts Said They Had Prepared An Emergency Plan In Their Respective Areas To Meet Every Need. They Were Instructed To Perform Mock Drill To Ensure The Desired Results, In Addition To Checking Their Alertness, According To The Officials, And The Addition Of District Police Chiefs Has Also Been Addressed To Identify Places For ' Langars ' (Common Kitchens) To Be Furnished For The Intended Pilgrims.

Some Of The Officers Presented At The Meeting Set Requirements Such As Bulletproof Bunkers, Modern Equipment And Gadgetries, The Officials Said. They Said That The SSPs In The District Were Aimed At Regular Training Of Police Personnel According To The SOP Listed To Keep Them Fit.
