Power Grid Interstate Transmission Project

New Delhi, September 12 () The state-owned Power Grid Corporation said Thursday that it has pocketed an interstate power transmission project under a competitive fee-based tender, which would benefit Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Power Grid Corporation has been declared as a successful bidder under competitive bidding based on tariffs to establish an interstate transmission system associated with LTA (long-term access) applications of Rajasthan SEZ Part-B in a construction, property, operation and maintenance (BOOM ), according to a company's BSE statement.

The letter of intent (LoI) was issued to Power Grid Corporation of India on September 11, he added.

The transmission system comprises a 765 kV DIC transmission line and associated bays to be established in Rajasthan.

Power Grid also said that after winning the offer, it acquired Bhind Guna Transmission Ltd (BGTL) on September 11 from REC Transmission Projects Company Ltd (the bidding process coordinator).

BGTL is the special purpose vehicle for establishing the transmission system for intra-state transmission work associated with the construction of a 400 kilovolt (kV) substation near Guna in Madhya Pradesh and the intra-state transmission work associated with the construction of a 220 kV substation near Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, based on BOOM.

The system includes 400 kV, 220 kV and 132 kV transmission lines, in addition to establishing new 400/220 kV and 220/132 kV substations in Guna and Bhind, respectively. The transmission system is an intra-state transmission system project in Madhya Pradesh and will be completed in 36 months, he added. KKS HRS
