Telecommunications wars: Bharti Airtel launches a 1 Gbps broadband offer at Rs 3,999/month

New Delhi, September 11 () Bharti Airtel on Wednesday launched its broadband offer, 'Airtel Xstream Fiber', which promises a speed of 1 Gbps for 3,999 rupees per month, raising competitive heat in a market that has recently seen the commercial launch of Jio fiber-based services.

As of today (Wednesday), Airtel Xstream Fiber is available for Homes, SOHO (Small Office Home Office) and small business establishments in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, said Bharti Airtel in a statement.

In the coming months, Airtel Xstream Fiber will be implemented in more markets, the statement said.

Airtel Xstream Fiber offers unlimited broadband at 1 Gbps for only Rs 3,999/month. It also offers unlimited landline calls to any network in India along with exclusive benefits' AirtelThanks ..., he said.

Benefits include three months of Netflix subscription gift, one year of Amazon Prime membership and access to premium content from ZEE5 and the Airtel Xstream application.

On September 5, billionaire Jio of Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of its fiber-based broadband service, which offers a minimum Internet speed of 100 Mbps for 699 rupees per month. JioFiber will offer free voice calls anywhere in the country, videoconferences and unlimited data. Annual subscribers will get 4K decoders, for the transmission of TV channels, for free, while a 4K TV would be complementary to plans with higher payments such as 'Gold' and higher. MBI DRR
