Telecommunications war: after Jio, Airtel launches 1 Gbps 'Xstream Fiber' with unlimited broadband at Rs 3,999 per month

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel on Wednesday he launched his broadband offer Airtel Xstream Fiber 'It promises a speed of 1 Gbps for Rs 3,999 per month, which increases the competitive heat in a market that has recently seen the commercial launch of Jio fiber-based services.

"Starting today (on Wednesday), Airtel Xstream Fiber is available to Homes, SOHO (Small Office Home Office) and small commercial establishments in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur and Ahmedabad," Bharti Airtel said in a statement.

In the coming months Airtel Xstream Fiber will be rolled out in more markets, the statement added.

" Airtel Xstream Fiber offers unlimited broadband at 1Gbps for just Rs 3,999/month. It also offers unlimited landline calls to any network in India along with exclusive ' Airtel Thanks' benefits...," it said.

The benefits include three months Netflix subscription gift, one year Amazon Prime membership and access to premium content from ZEE5 and Airtel Xstream app.

On September 5, billionaire Jio of Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of its fiber-based broadband service, which offers a minimum Internet speed of 100 Mbps for 699 rupees per month.

JioFiber will offer free voice calls anywhere in the country, videoconferences and unlimited data. Annual subscribers will get 4K decoders, for the transmission of TV channels, for free, while a 4K TV would be complementary to plans with higher payments like 'Gold' and higher.
