Rape case filed against swimming coach in Goa
PANAJI/NUEVA DELHI: There was a case of rape and criminal intimidation, as well as for crimes under the POCSO Law against a swimming coach by Goa Police Thursday.
Surajit Ganguly, coach of the Goa Swimming Association (GSA), is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl who was training with him.
An alleged video of the incident went viral on social networks, which caused the Minister of Sports of the Union Kiren Rijiju to promise strict action.

A case under sections 376 (rape), 354 (sexual abuse) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, as well as under the Child Protection Against Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and the Goa Law for Children was filed against Ganguly who It still can't be traced, said Inspector Kapil Nayak of the Mapusa police station in Goa.
