Rishi Kapoor turns 67 today. The seasoned actor has entertained us with his stellar performances in several films over the decades. Be it playing a serious character or a comic role, the actor has inspired a generation of young actors who follow his footsteps. It's been almost a year since Rishi Kapoor has been in New York for his cancer treatment. His fans back here are missing him very much. Son of the legendary actor and film director Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor was born on 4th September 1952 in Chembur, Mumbai. He was also the grandson of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. Rishi was the second son in his family along with his brothers Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor and two sisters Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.

Rishi received the National Film Award for his debut role as a child artist in his father Raj Kapoor 's 1970 film' Mera Naam Joker '. The actor made his first lead role as an adult opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973 the movie 'Bobby'. Rishi received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 1974 for his role in the film.

Rishi Kapoor tied the knot with actress Neetu singh on January 22, 1980. He appeared in front of Neetu in fifteen films. The couple has two children: Ranbir Kapoor , who followed in the footsteps of his father and grew up as an actor, and his daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, who is a designer by profession.

Rishi Kapoor was honored with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. I have played the lead in 51 only films out of which 11 were successful at the box office. Rishi has also appeared in 41 multistarrer films as well. The actor is remembered for his stellar performances in Bobby, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Chandni, Naseeb, Coolie, Amar Akbar Anthony among others.

In recent years, Rishi Kapoor has moved on to play supporting roles. He was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 2017 film 'Kapoor u0026 Sons'. Rishi also directed the 1999 film 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen', which starrer Rajesh Khanna , Aishwarya Rai and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.
