Dvara Research Appoints New Executive Director
CHENNAI Dvara Research has designated Dr. Indradeep Ghosh as their Executive Director (ED)
Since its founding in 2008, Chennai and Mumbai-based Dvara Research works on financial inclusion research in India and has undertaken initiatives to create an enabling policy and regulatory environment for an inclusive financial system.
His areas of focus include the design of the financial system, home finances, client protection (also known as the future of finance) and the social protection initiative.
As ED, Ghosh would be working closely with Dvara Research board to drive its research agenda and will lead research priorities in coordination with practice heads, the organization said in a statement. He would also be driving stakeholder engagements with policymakers, academics, practitioners and others as part of his role.
Before joining Dvara Research, Ghosh was an associate professor and dean (faculty) at the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economic Sciences Mumbai
Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of economics at Haverford College in Philadelphia in the United States. He has a PhD in economics from MIT and a master's degree in economics from the University of Cambridge.
Ghosh brings with him research experience in macroeconomics, economic pedagogy and interdisciplinary studies. He has also published extensively in renowned research journals and has lectured at various institutions, both in India and abroad.
