Ritika Thaker, Rashi Lambe on the Maharashtra team for the Westminton Badminton Championship

NAGPUR: Ritika Thaker and Rashi Lambe have been selected on the Maharashtra team for the interstate west Badminton Championship.

The talented city duo will represent the state in the annual tournament scheduled to be held at Mapusa, Goa from September 18 to 21. The Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) announced the team on Monday.

Ritika and Rashi He made the cut for the ten-member senior mixed team based on his excellent performance throughout the year. Doubles specialist Ritika also secured the position in the junior U19 mixed team.

Kaushal Dharmamer of Mumbai Suburban has been named team captain. The team has three players from Thane, two from Nagpur, Pune and Mumbai Suburban and one from Nashik.

The junior team is dominated by Pune with six players. Three of Thane and one of Nagpur complete the ten-member team. Former olympic Nikhil Kanetkar He will be the team coach. MBA senior vice president Ashish Bajpai will accompany the team as manager.

In addition to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Goa hosts will compete for top honors. Last year in Bilaspur, Maharashtra dominated the West Zone tournament by winning both senior and junior titles.
