Saurabh-Abhishek and Apurvi-Elavenil shooters score 1-2 in the ISSF world ranking

PUNE: After dominating the four-edition World Cup series by winning all four gold medals at the 10m air gun event, Saurabh Chaudhary & Abhishek Verma Now they are ruling the world ranking.

At first, the Indian duo placed 1-2 in the last ranking published by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF)

Saurabh, who had won gold at the New Delhi & Munich editions & bronze in Rio de Janeiro has been placed on top, while Abhishek has got the second spot after his gold-winning show at Beijing & Rio.

The duo of Apurvi Chandela & Elavenil Valarivan 1-2 have been placed in the women's 10m air rifle event respectively. Apurvi had secured the yellow metal in the New Delhi edition along with the creation of a new world final record.

She followed him by taking first place in the Munich edition. On the other hand, Elavenil won gold in the current Rio World Cup.

Saurabh was previously placed second, while Abhishek was fourth. Apurvi maintained his first position, while Elavenil made his entry to the top 10 pushing Anjum Moudgil to seventh position.

In general, 10 Indian shooters have reached the top 10 in their respective events, another first for the sport in the country.

Mens: Saurabh Chaudhary (1st, 10m air pistol), Abhishek Verma (2nd, 10m air pistol), Divyansh Singh Panwar (6th, 10m air rifle), Sanjeev Rajput (8, 50 m rifle position), Anish Bhanwala (10, 25 m rapid fire pistol)

Woman: Apurvi Chandela (1st, 10m air rifle), Elavenil Valarivan (2nd, 10m air rifle), Anjum Moudgil (7th, 10m air rifle), Yashaswini Deswal (4th, 10m air pistol), Rahi Sarnobat (2nd, 25m pistol).
