Unless we unite, we will continue to be a soft target: Vivek Anand Oberoi
By his own admission, the past few months have been quite challenging for actor Vivek Anand Oberoi as his next film. PM Narendra Modi He faced many setbacks to obtain a release. The film that was initially scheduled to reach theaters on April 11 was stopped by the Electoral Commission. In a notice addressed to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to the Central Board of Film Certification and to the Electoral Chiefs of all union states and territories, EC stated: 'No biographical material should be included that could disturb the playing conditions during the elections 'shown in electronic media, including the cinematograph during the operation of the MCC (Model Code of Conduct)'.
During his visit to Nagpur on Monday, the actor was happy, as his film will finally be released this Friday. I think there was a mahagatbandhan against us where people wanted to prevent us from releasing our movie. We have faced many difficulties to take it to theaters, but I am happy that the film finally premieres on May 24, said Vivek.
He also said that members of Bollywood he did not openly offer to support his film. Some of my close friends in the industry called me and showed concern, but nobody introduced themselves or said anything publicly. But I fully understand your position. Unless we unite as an industry, we will continue to be a company objective Like the way we have been in the past, I added.
The actor has been at the receiving end of social media trolling as well. On this, I have simply said, I try to focus on the positive things and do not pay much heed to negativity.
Vivek and Oberoi in trouble?
Vivek Anand Oberoi has courted controversy yet again. The actor tweeted a meme yesterday with pictures of Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan, to depict the difference between opinion polls, exit polls and results of elections. I have captioned it, Haha! creative! No politics here .... just life. (sic) This tweet has not gone down well with the netizens as well as Maharashtra State Commission For Women. According to reports, MSCW is allegedly planning to take action against the actor. Meanwhile, some of the celebrities, including Sonam Kapoor, Jwala Gutta etc. have also slammed the actor for this objectionable tweet.
