'A mentor to many of us': Nirmala Sitharaman expresses sorrow for the death of Arun Jaitley
NEW DELHI: Minister of Finance of the Union Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday he paid rich tributes to the minister of the Union Arun Jaitley , describing him as a mentor with an incomparable cunning.

BJP leader Jaitley died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness. Jaitley, 66, was admitted to the hospital on August 9 after complaining of dyspnea and restlessness.
The veteran BJP leader served as finance minister in the former cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2018. He was also the leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha from 2009 to 2014.
During his period in the Ministry of Finance, Jaitley was instrumental in the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) aimed at streamlining the indirect tax structure of India. It was also during his term that the much debated decision of demonetization or prohibition of taking notes was taken.
