Bhagat became the fourth Para Badminton player to obtain an Arjuna after former world champions Parul Parmer, Raj Kumar and Manoj Sarkar who received the honor in recent years. He will receive the prize along with 18 others that include the athlete Sundar Singh Gurjar and the cricket player Ravindra Jadeja.
Bhagat already has eight gold medals (five singles and three doubles) this year in six tournaments: World Games 2019, Turkey 2019, Dubai 2019, Uganda 2019, Canada 2019 and Ireland 2019.
Over the years, Bhagat worked with his hard work and his strong determination to emerge winner and overcome big names.
National coach Gaurav Khanna, who has played one of the most important roles in the ascending rise of Bhagat, praised his neighborhood as one of the most dedicated in the field.
