Youth Billiards: Shrikrashna, Ishpreet advance to quarters

Mumbai, August 13 () The first two seeds, S Shrikrishna of Tamil Nadu and Ishpreet Singh Chaddha of Maharashtra, advanced easily to the quarterfinals of the Bombay Gymkhana Youth Snooker Open here Tuesday.

In the games leading up to the quarterfinals, the number one seeded Shrikrishna, based in Chennai, who is the fifth junior snooker player in the Indies, in pots to beat Adil Khan, winning 3-0 (52-25, 106 -4 and 68-26)

Later, the second seeded Chaddha of Mumbai called the shots against Sahil Kakad and ran to a 3-0 victory.

Chaddha shot at breaks 44 and 62 in the first and second frame to complete a 77-30, 69-14 and 76-37 victory.

In another game, Asutosh Padhy produced an impressive break of 92 to send Uttar Pradeshs Vishwajeet Mohan, the number four billiard player in the Indies, who fell in the round of 16.

Padhy achieved good form and won an impressive victory 66-39, 63-52, 92-7.

In the only match that went the distance, Taaha Khan of Railways beat Suraj Rathi 3-2.

In a game of fluctuating fortunes, Khan managed to keep his nerves on edge to get a 35-62, 49-37, 70-34, 45-65, 45-13 victory.
